Accommondation 

Tweerivier Game Lodge - Offers self-catering accommodation for up to 24 guests in total, or 3 separate groups:

        - Boomhuis/"Treehouse": 

Luxurious house with 2 bedrooms catering for 4 guests (spacious                       enough to add 2 children to group).

        - Tent camp: 

A double story structure, the ground level has a lounge and kitchen and the second                level has 5 spacious walk-in tents catering for 10 guests.

        - Bo camp:

4 en-suite bedrooms (accommodating 2 guests each) and 1 family room                                   (accommodating 4 guests). All three has their own kitchen, lounge, barbeque facilities and camp-           fire. The Tree House and Tent camp have swimming pools at the   camp.

Tweerivier Game Farm offers an unbelievable self-catering bush holiday, setting the scene for spending quality time, relaxing in the sun and enjoying nature at its best.

The following items are provided for self-catering guests: 

   • facilities are serviced daily (including dishwashing)
   • toilet paper 

   • linen 

   • towels

   • fully equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, kettle)

   • lounge with television

   • barbeque facilities

   • Toiletries 
   • Torches with batteries 
   • Swimsuits 
   • Insect repellent

 

Fresh produce are readily available in Ellisras and Thabazimbi towns.

Convenient stores, pharmacy, liquor stores, bank, ATM and fast food franchises available in both towns.

Fuel is readily available at Ellisras and Thabazimbi but make sure you fill up en route to the farm.

Game viewing

An extensive variety of game and birdlife can be viewed on this farm.

The: 

Impala, Gemsbok, Eland, Kudu, Steenbok, Rooihardbees, Zebra, Giraffe, Warthog, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Bosbok, Rietbok, Duiker, Njala and Springbok, are all antelope species in attendance on the farm.

Other wild life on the farm include, Leopard, Cheetah, Crocodile, Hippopotamus, Rooijakkals - Black-backed Jackal, Delalande's Fox, Fervet Monkeys, Baboons, Bush Babies, Otters, Bush Pig, Muskejaatkat - Genetta Genetta, Brown Hyena, Caracal, Civet, Porcupines, Honey badger, Pangolins, Ant bear etc.

  

The abundance of water combined with the lush bushveld vegetation provides a home for a multitude of birds. Try and record your sightings and come back next year to beat your record.

Possible Birds of prey that could be seen:

White-backed Vulture, Fish Eagle, White Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Bateleur, Martial Eagle, Brown Snake Eagle, African   Harrier-Hawk, Black Harrier, Black-shouldered Kite, Secretary Bird, Kori Bustard, Ground Hornbills etc.

Waterbirds:

Yellow-billed Duck, White Faced Ducks, Knob-billed Duck, Red-billed Teal, Red-knobbed Coot, African Crake, Common Moorhen, Water Thick-Knee, Green-backed Heron, Great Egret, Grey Heron, Black Heron, Cattle Egret, Saddle-billed stork, Yellowbilled stork, Maraboe, Spurwing geese, Hammer Head, Stilts, Plovers etc.

 

Other birds include - Pied Kingfisher, Brown Hooded Kingfisher, Woodland Kingfisher, Mangrove Kingfisher, Giant Kingfisher, Wood-hoopoe, Babblers, Shrikes, Hornbills, Sunbirds, Lilac-breasted Roller, European Roller, Purple Roller, Grey Lourie,  Narina Trogon and much more.
