Tweerivier Game Lodge is based on private game property in northern South Africa, in the wildlife paradise of the Limpopo province.
Only 4hrs drive north of Johannesburg and 80km west of Ellisras, this family owned and operated private lodge offers the perfect wildlife holiday destination for the outdoor enthusiast.
This unique location has inspired the name of this special place, ie. “Tweerivier” or Two rivers.
The area is malaria-free and closely located to the world-renowned Madikwe, Marakele, and Pilansberg Game Reserves.
The lodge serves as a ideal stop over en-route to Botswana, through the nearby Stockpoort border.
The farm is easily accessible on tar roads until 40 km north from Thabazimbi, from where the last 70 km is a well maintained gravel road.
A 4 x 4 vehicle is not compulsory, and a normal vehicle could easily travel the 80 km gravel road through adjacent game farms and breathtaking wildlife scenery.
The highlight of your stay however will be the extensive wildlife and flora that can be viewed from the comfort of your very own African veranda or by taking a game drive into the wide expanses of this beautiful African farm.

About the area's attractions & activities
Self-catering holidays are taken to the next level by the lodge's unique decor.
Old natural resources from the surroundings were crafted into usable and practical decor items, but remains individual natural works of art.
The lodge can cater for up to 24 guests in total, or 3 separate groups in the following accommodation:
- Boomhuis/"Treehouse":
Luxurious house with 2 bedrooms catering for 4 guests
- Tent camp:
A double story structure, the second level has 5 spacious walk-in tents catering for 10 guests.
- Bo camp:
4 en-suite bedrooms (accommodating 2 guests each) and 1 family room (accommodating 4 guests).
All three has their own kitchen, lounge, barbeque facilities and camp-fire whilst the Bo camp and Tent camp also boasts a swimming pool.
The tree house's stylish interior and unique location makes it an ideal honeymoon destination, or the perfect retreat for celebrating anniversaries.
Tent and Bo camp offers the perfect setting for family holidays, and friends who want to enjoy the wide expanses of this beautiful African farm.
What Tweerivier Game Lodge offers most of all is to enjoy nature and wildlife in serenity.
The
property boast a wide variety of plains game (zebra,
wildebeest, red hartebeest, giraffe, eland, oryx, sable), but
does not stock dangerous predators.
A favourite holiday destination for birding and hiking tourists.
The property offers close-up game viewing and unique hides as well as game viewing from horseback.
Guests can enjoy game drive safaris, night drives, hiking amongst wildlife, picnics, on the property.
The area offers game viewing in Madikwe, Marakele, and Pilansberg Game Reserves, within 1 to 2 hours drive from the lodge.
Our Heritage
The farm celebrates its centenary in the year 2010. The Van der Walt family has owned it for 100 years.
To the owners, Z and Noeline van der Walt and Ampie and Noeline Viljoen (nee van der Walt), this piece of African turf represents a legacy that they hold dearly.
This proud heritage is waiting to be enjoyed by people who can appreciate the pristine bushveld of the region whilst enjoying the extremely well appointed accommodation of the various camps.
